.at – country code top-level domain (ccTLD)

.at is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Austria. It is administered by NIC.AT.
The .at country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension that represents Austria. For companies that conduct business in that country and individuals who want to reach the growing number of Internet users there, .at domain names are a good investment. Registering a .at domain name gives you regional recognition and an easy-to-manage Web presence. Anyone can register .at domain names on a first-come, first-served basis.

The .at top-level domain has a number of second-level domains. These are:

•     .gv.at – for governmental institutions (registration is handled by the Austrian Chancellery)
•     .ac.at – for academic and educational institutions (registration is handled by the University of Vienna)
•     .co.at – intended for companies (unrestricted registration)
•     .or.at – intended for organizations (unrestricted registration)

However, it is also possible to register directly at the second level. Given the number of English words that end with -at, this presents the possibility for many domain hacks. All second level domain names must be at least three characters long e.g. form.at or bor.at. Domain hacks treating “at” as a word in its own right (such as arrive.at) are also widespread.

Registrations of internationalized domain names are accepted.
